Ok Ok. I don't give up, do I ? anyway, found this little post on how having links with others helps to increase you visibility to google. It's supposed to help you up your traffic and technocrati ranking ( though I have to admit I have no idea how to find out my technocrati ranking !!).

Aaa... KAren, sorry to have to tell you this but your experiment's going to fail because you didn't hotlink (i.e. create links) for the blog/websites listed. So their PRank is not going to accrue to you.
It doesn't work unless you use actual links in the list.
There is only one slight problem: you joined it too late to get much benefit. My blog went on this link over a week ago when it was much smaller, and I could pick up the links from people who came in later.
